Looking down at Historic Harpers Ferry West Virginia

One of my favorite hikes, which is only a few miles away in Harpers Ferry, is a great, quick, easy, and somewhat exhaustive short hike up to the top of a cliff that over looks Harpers Ferry. Harpers Ferry is located on a peninsula at the confluence of the Shenandoah from the South, and the Potomac coming down from the North. The view from the top of the cliff is beautiful, especially in the Fall.

There is an additional trail that goes to the top of the mountain . The hike is great for the view, and also for people who enjoy Civil War History. Harpers Ferry is a famous town for its role in the Civil War, and is a historic landmark. Along the trail there are remnants of the old Civil War forts.
